A production company is responsible for the development and physical production of new media, performing arts, film, radio or a television program.

For our film Lost Property we decided to use my own production company name called TMAnimate. Our production company is made by young adults and primarily focuses its target audiences around young adults.

 

For our film’s distributor we choose Film 4 with the main reason being that Film 4 has good experience marketing films similar to ours in the past. On top of that film 4 also acts as another production company for our film meaning that they help fund and distribute it.

In terms of the credits we decided to use in our opening, this mainly consisted of both me and Milo due to us doing pretty much doing everything behind the film. We also decided to use well know names like Christopher Nolan and Stephen King.

Using Christopher Nolan’s name in our opening allows our audience to make certain implications about our films story and themes, hopefully allowing them to be more attention driven and on the edge of their seat throughout the movie.

Having Stephen King write our movie also opens the audience up for possible plot twists preparing our audience to be more aware and focused whilst watching the film due to our story following his writing style.

Institutionally our film is similar to films like Adulthood and Shifty primarily due to them having a similar story featuring similar types of characters, age ranges and themes throughout the film.

Evaluation Activity 6: What have we learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? 

Below is some of the filming equipment used during our filming process 

Nikon D3100 : To film our opening we used a Nikon D3100. Although a standard camera would have looked good, we both felt that a more high quality camera was appropriate for most of the shots we were looking for. Using things like the lens to get more depth within a shot and a focus effect to focus on one object and blur out another.

Tripod: The tripod that we used was incredibly small and compact. It was really simple to carry around being extremely portable. This was used mainly for the still shots that were frequently used throughout the opening to avoid movement whilst filming our stills and close ups. 

Editing | Laptop: To edit our opening we simply used a Dell laptop. We used Adobe Premier to cut everything together and to create our titles.

Using sites like facebook, blogger and youtube we were able to plan and keep track of our filming process. Using blogger we could upload screengrabs of our filming progress and keep track of what we were doing. We were able to plan filming times, actors and locations between each other through facebook. When everything was filmed and edited, we were able to upload everything onto youtube as a final product which in turn was shared on our blogger accounts.
